Secure Data Sharing enables sharing selected objects in a database in your account with other Snowflake accounts. Snowflake enables the sharing of databases through shares, created by data providers and “imported” by data consumers.

All database objects shared between accounts are read-only (i.e. Cannot be modified or deleted, including adding or modifying table data).

Data Sharing:
The following Snowflake database objects can be shared:
•Tables
•External tables
•Secure Views
•Materialized views
•UDFs

With Secure Data Sharing, no actual data is copied or transferred between accounts. All sharing is accomplished through metastore service.

This is an important concept because it means that shared data does not take up any storage in a consumer account. Therefore only charges to consumers are for the compute resources (i.e. virtual warehouses) used to query the shared data
Limitations:
o Shared databases are read-only. Users in a consumer account can view/query data, but cannot insert or update data, or create any objects in the database.

o Creating a clone of a shared database or any schemas/tables in the database is not supported.
o You can not share already shared object with another database .So while creating the outbound share of tables and views it has reported the error as one of the view holding the table of Shared database
